A medication timer tracks time between doses for a specific family member and medication. After you log when medication was given, the timer shows either:
- How much time remains until the next dose is allowed, or
- The clock time when the next dose is allowed—depending on your display preference in Profile settings.
You can think of it as the app remembering “when is it safe to give the next dose?” so you don’t have to.
Doses in the last 24 hours
Timer cards also show rolling 24-hour dose progress—how many doses have been taken versus the maximum allowed in any 24-hour window for that medication (when a maximum is set on the medication). Spacing rules and “safe to give again” timing are unchanged; the count helps you see daily limits at a glance on sick nights.
When you already follow a plan that spaces two different medicines, you can optionally turn on Also stagger another medication on Add timer. That logs the first medicine as usual and creates a synced stagger follow-up for the second (a pending suggestion, not a dose in advance). See How do I stagger another medication?
On shared households, timer cards can also show who logged the last dose (for example Last: {Name} · {time}). See Who shows as having given the last dose?
Note: As-needed Timers are now part of Care sessions during illness—start care on the Care tab to log doses and see countdowns in one workspace. The standalone Timers area remains for everyday use outside a care session (optional separate tab on mobile—see What are the main sections?).
