At Medication Timer, your health privacy is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, including sensitive medical data, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Unlike general apps, Medication Timer handles sensitive personal information. We collect data in two ways:
A. Information You Provide (Sensitive Health Data)
To provide our services, we collect information you voluntarily input, which may include:
- Medication Details: Names, dosages, frequencies, and purposes of medications.
- Health Profiles: Family member names for tracking others and specific health conditions.
- Schedules: Reminder times and logs of when medications were taken.
B. Automatically Collected Data (Log Files)
Like most apps, we collect standard technical data:
- Device Info: IP addresses, browser or device type, and operating system.
- Usage Data: Time stamps and app interactions such as how often the app is opened.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly for the following purposes:
- Core Functionality: To trigger medication reminders and maintain your history.
- Personalization: To manage different profiles for family members.
- App Improvement: To analyze technical performance and fix bugs.
Important: We do not use your sensitive health data like medication names or schedules for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
We implement industry standard security measures to protect your health information:
- Encryption: Data is encrypted during transit via SSL/TLS and while at rest on our servers.
- Access Control: Access to database information is strictly limited to essential technical personnel.
- Local Storage: Local storage is used to improve app experience but majority of your data is stored in the cloud.
4. Third Party Services and Advertising
We may use third party partners for app functionality and monetization:
- Advertising: Our app does not have any third party advertising, although we do advertise our subscription service to free users. We never share your specific medication list or health conditions with any advertisers or third party services.
- Analytics: We use tools to understand app performance. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You are in control of your data:
- Deletion: You can delete medication entries or your entire account within the app settings.
- Retention: We only keep your data as long as your account is active. Once your account has been deleted, it is removed from our active databases within 30 days when requested.
6. Children’s Privacy
Protecting children is vital. Medication Timer does not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13. While a parent may input a child’s medication schedule into the app, the app is intended for use by parents or guardians. If we learn we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.
7. Compliance and Consent
- Not Medical Advice: Medication Timer is a tracking tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional healthcare.
- Consent: By using Medication Timer and inputting health data, you provide explicit consent for us to process that data to provide the services of the app.
