This page describes how the Medication Timer Chrome side panel extension (companion to the Medication Timer app) handles data for family dose timers and safety timers for medicines. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
Single purpose
The extension shows your current Medication Timer dose countdowns in a Chrome side panel and opens Medication Timer deep links so you can continue in the full Medication Timer app on web or mobile.
Data we handle
- Account credentials: email and password you enter are sent to Firebase Authentication to sign you in (same account as the Medication Timer web/mobile apps).
- Account identifiers: your Firebase user id is used to query timers you can access.
- Health-related timer data: medication names, care recipient names, and dose timing/countdown status needed to display your timers.
How we use data
Data is used only to authenticate you and display your timers in the side panel. We do not sell this data. We do not use it for interest-based advertising.
Where data is sent
Authentication and timer data are transmitted over HTTPS to Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) for the Medication Timer production project.
Storage on your device
Firebase Auth may keep a signed-in session in IndexedDB in the extension so you stay signed in when you reopen the side panel. Uninstalling the extension or signing out removes that session.
Permissions
sidePanel: show the timers UI.- Host access to Google Firebase Auth/Firestore APIs only (no broad “read all websites” access).
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Use of information received from this extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
