Version 2.5.0 adds Growth & Development tracking for children, body metrics for the whole household, a guided tour after setup, Care snooze, clearer as-needed timer safety, and a visual refresh. Sign-in with Google and Apple is also improved on mobile.

Available now on iOS, Android, and the web app.

Growth & Development (Family Care)

Medication Timer can now track weight, height, and head circumference for children and plot readings against WHO growth standards (0–2 years) and CDC charts (2–18 years).

What you need

  • Birth date on the family member. Age at each reading drives the percentile calculation.
  • Sex on the member profile, or inferred from Son/Daughter relationship.

Where to log readings

  • Family → Growth & Development: primary place to add readings (any historical date).
  • Family → Health readings: for members 18 and under, weight, height, and head circumference appear here (with the growth sprout icon) so you can set optional reminders.
  • Today: a growth or body-metric row appears only when that measurement is due from a reminder schedule or already logged (or skipped) on the day you are viewing. Tap the sprout or scale icon beside Readings to reveal weight, height, and head circumference (when applicable) and log from Today without cluttering the panel on quiet days.

Empty “Tap to log” rows for growth and body metrics do not appear on Today unless you expand Readings or the type is scheduled or already recorded that day.

Charts

Open Growth & Development on a family member card for members 18 and under, or when they have growth readings logged at age 18 or younger. Charts show percentile curves and your logged points.

  • Weight & height: WHO (0–2y) and CDC (2–18y) percentiles.
  • BMI: CDC BMI-for-age percentiles from 2–20 years, calculated when weight and height are logged on the same day (or height within 90 days).
  • Head circumference: WHO through about age 3; not on CDC 2–18y charts.

With Family Care, growth readings and charts are included in family reports for the report period.

Charts are informational only. They are not medical advice. Discuss trends with your pediatrician or GP.

Body metrics for the whole household (Family Care)

Body metrics tracks weight, height, and BMI over time for any family member.

  • Adults see BMI with standard healthy-range bands (not pediatric percentiles), when weight and height can be paired on the same day (or height within 90 days).
  • Open Body metrics from the family member card for trends and charts.
  • Readings appear in family reports when logged in the report period.

Guided tour after setup

After you finish first-time setup, a new guided tour walks you through the app:

  • Bottom navigation: Today, Care, Family, and Medications
  • The Today day strip and family member cards
  • Starting and managing a Care episode: temperatures, as-needed timers, medication courses, and switching between members under care

The tour uses demo data so you can explore without changing your household. Complete it from the post-setup launchpad, or skip and return later from Profile. It replaces the older first-run coachmarks.

Snooze on Care “Next up”

When something is due on Care or Today, tap Snooze to defer it for 10 minutes. A snoozed card shows a countdown and lets you clear the snooze when you are ready. Handy when you are mid-conversation, driving, or settling a child before logging a dose.

Clearer as-needed timer safety

As-needed medication timers now show rolling 24-hour dose progress on the timer card: how many doses have been taken versus the maximum allowed in any 24-hour window. Spacing rules and “safe to give again” timing are unchanged. The dose count is just easier to see at a glance on sick nights.

Improved Google and Apple sign-in

Sign-in and registration on mobile have been redesigned:

  • Continue with Google and Continue with Apple are the primary options; email sign-in remains under Continue with email.
  • Account linking: if that email already has a password account, the app asks for your password and links Google or Apple to the same account (same data, same household).
  • Android Google Sign-In: native Android OAuth configuration added so Google sign-in works reliably on Android builds.
  • Profile from your provider: Google profile photo syncs to your account; Apple name is saved on first sign-in (Apple only sends it once).
  • Easier to read: open display options (large interface, contrast, light/dark) from the sign-in screen before you log in.

Visual refresh

2.5.0 updates the look and feel across mobile and web:

  • New app icon, splash screen, and notification icon
  • Updated family and medication-type icons throughout the app
  • Plus Jakarta Sans typography on mobile
  • Refined floating tab bar, status badges, and colour consistency
  • Family picker sorts members by age and name
  • Medication picker: clear button and smoother overlay selection

Other improvements in 2.5.0

  • Onboarding includes health-readings setup steps for new households.
  • Care and Today status badges and “Next up” cards refined for clearer due, overdue, and snoozed states.
  • Day progress indicators on Today updated for clearer tracking at a glance.
  • Android build reliability improvements for local development.
  • Bug fixes and performance polish across Today, Care, and Family.
