Widgets mirror key actions from Today, Care, and Timers without opening the full app. The same safety rules apply — you cannot bypass maximum doses in 24 hours, spacing timers, or doses that are not yet due.
Next Up widget
When the unified Next Up dose is due or overdue:
- Take — records the dose (routine slot or care course, depending on what Next Up is showing).
- Snooze 10m — defers the item for ten minutes, same as snooze in the app.
These buttons appear on medium size on iPhone and Android. Small size is display-only; tap the widget to open Today.
Active Timers widget
When an as-needed timer is safe to log (green phase):
- Log dose — records a dose on that timer (medium size).
While the timer is still counting down (red or orange phase), the widget shows the live countdown but does not offer Log dose until timing rules allow it.
What widgets cannot do
- Add or edit family members, medications, or routines.
- Start a new timer or care session.
- Log temperatures, vitals, or care notes (use the app, Siri / Google Assistant, or Apple Watch for care notes).
- Override dose safety limits.
If an action does not complete
Widget buttons wake the phone app briefly to write to your account. If you are signed out, offline for a long time, or the app has not synced recently:
- Open Medication Timer on your phone and confirm you are signed in.
- Retry from the widget, or complete the action in the app.
On Apple Watch, similar actions queue when the iPhone is unreachable and flush when it reconnects.
