Medication Timer 2.5.2 includes home screen widgets on iPhone and Android. They show live medication state from your signed-in household and let you act without opening the app (where noted below).

Before you start

  • Update to Medication Timer 2.5.2 or later from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Sign in on your phone at least once so widgets can sync your household data.
  • Add family members, medications, and (optionally) dose routines or active timers in the app first — empty widgets simply show that nothing is due.

Widget types

Next Up

Shows the most urgent dose across your household — from a scheduled routine, an active care course, or a snoozed item that is due again.

  • Small — member, medication, and status.
  • Medium — adds Take and Snooze 10m buttons.
  • Tap the widget background to open Today.

Active Timers

Shows as-needed medication timers that are running outside an active care session (timers during care appear under Active care in the app and on Apple Watch, not on this widget).

  • Countdown colours match the app: red / orange while still waiting, green when safe to log again.
  • Medium size adds Log dose when allowed.
  • Tap the widget background to open the Timers tab.

Add widgets on iPhone

  1. Long-press the home screen → tap EditAdd Widget (or the + button).
  2. Search for Medication Timer.
  3. Choose Next Up or Active Timers and pick a size.
  4. Tap Add Widget, then Done.

Widgets refresh when household data changes on the phone. If you sign out, widgets show a sign-in prompt.

Add widgets on Android

  1. Long-press the home screen → Widgets.
  2. Find Medication TimerNext Up or Active Timers.
  3. Drag the widget onto your home screen.

Rebuild or update to 2.5.2 if widgets do not appear — they require native code from that release onward.
