Managing a child’s antibiotics while your partner handles the overnight fever only works when you share one source of truth — not screenshots in a group chat. Family Care shared coordination lets trusted caregivers access the same household medication and health data in Medication Timer.
What shared access covers
When caregivers join your family with appropriate permissions, they can see and log against the same:
- Scheduled dose routines and Today progress
- As-needed timers and dose history
- Temperature and symptom logs
- Care sessions — who is unwell, Next up, and session timelines
- Health readings — vitals you track for the household
- Active notifications and widgets on their own devices after they sign in
Everyone works from one timeline; hand-offs do not reset the mental math.
Inviting a caregiver
Share access through invite codes or sharing flows from profile or family settings (exact labels vary by platform). Only invite people authorized to care for that family member — grandparents, co-parents, nannies, or partners.
Medication Timer is not a public health record. Treat share codes like house keys.
Coordination during Care
When someone is in an active Care session, another signed-in caregiver can see who needs attention and what is due — course doses, temperature checks, or PRN countdowns — without duplicating logs in separate apps.
What sharing does not do
- It does not replace professional medical advice
- It does not automatically share data outside Medication Timer (no silent export to Apple Health as a substitute for in-app coordination — see comparison articles for platform differences)
- It does not bypass dose safety rules — spacing and daily limits still apply per medication settings
